Fast becoming rugby league’s answer to Louis ‘Man Of Glass’ Saha, Fitzy’s season is over before it’s barely begun…again. Rumours circulating around Mount Pleasant on Sunday—that Karl Fitzpatrick’s shoulder injury is worse than first feared—have been confirmed by a report on the new National League website. An impending operation could also put the kybosh on his selection for Ireland’s World Cup campaign, who are now thought to be desperate to coax Brian Carney back to fill their No.1 shirt.

Unfortunately, there’s no news on Jordan Turner after his worrying knock at Batley.
