Actually, the sadist in me wouldn’t mind seeing how they’d cope; or rather, how they’d hurtle off course towards Buile Hill Park...or Oldham. Mind you, even if the gusts play merry hell with the oval ball, there’ll be questions asked if we can’t put fifty past the Warrington Wizards in tonight’s cup tie.
So what you’re doing tonight, really, if we’re being honest, no disrespect or owt, is preparing to get a battering from the elements while trying to seep any enjoyment you can from a walkover. Never mind. Get to the tea hut, grab yer sen a Bovril and pop a bit of Bill Withers on your iPod. On second thoughts, make that a tot of rum and think of Barbados.
