| There were nineteen incidents reviewed by the disciplinary panel as a result of round seven and these were spread across all six matches.
Only three resulted in charges; one merited no further action after an early guilty plea, one picked up a one game suspension after an EGP, and the third will result in an appearance before the panel tonight to determine the players fate.
All of the incidents meriting charges came from televised games.
On Friday night many will have seen the shoulder charge by James Green on Travis Burns which was deemed to merit just a penalty from the referee but had the SKY commentary team calling for a public execution. The disciplinary thought that there was a case to answer and charged Green with a Grade B offence with a one to two game tariff. Green was offered, and accepted an Early Guilty Plea (EGP) for a one game suspension.
In the same match Darrell Goulding was charged with a trip on Jordan Turner in the 29th minute. This was a Grade A offence, and after submitting an EGP the panel ruled no further action.
The one person who will be making representations to the panel is Catalans Dragons full back Morgan Escare who was charged with a Grade B offence for a dangerous contact with Rhino Rob Burrow in the 78th minute of their Saturday evening game in Perpignan. Escare faces a one to two game suspension if found guilty and has no EGP available.
Footnote: Escare received a one game suspension. |
