I could see Ackers being released to find another club if he can't find the form we are looking for over the rest of the year. When players enter the last year of a contract, the conversation with them changes and it goes one of two ways, we want you to stay, or we won't be offering an extension and you are free to leave if you find something else.
I doubt Ackers would walk away from a contract that doesn't expire till the end of 2026 and I can't see the club being to keen to lose money by paying him off. When he returns in the next couple of weeks he knows ( especially if we are running with one hooker in the 17) that he'll have to produce his best. There's a good chance, like Lisone, that he might take his game up couple of levels and give BA another headache. He's a good player, Ackers, who for one reason or another hasn't quite shown it at Leeds - yet, but with a settled spine in place and the rest of the pack really starting to cook, I'd back him deliver his best over the next couple of months.

Matt Frawley has gone on a month long loan to Huddersfield with Elliot Wallace staying with us on Loan (what for I'm not sure)
The Wallis one is really odd, it's hard to see how/where he would fit in. I do think it's a pretty strong indication that we are serious about winning the reserve comp though.

I seem to be in the minority but I thought Croft was class last weekend, possibly contender for MoM. He seems to be growing in his partnership with Connor and I can only see him getting better. At last he is playing in a team with a partner and structure that suits him, still not the player we thought we were getting but getting closer week by week.
Not at all, i rate him highly and i think he's copped unfair criticism at times. He's a very good player. Things have been a mess around him since he signed until Arthur and Blease came in and sorted it all out, he's now playing much better. I really like Croft. I thought he was our best player last year and indeed still one of the best in the league playing behind a pack that got demolished every week. Now, with Connor playing as proper seven, and a much more polished version of Miller to play off, I think he's quite capable of lighting up the comp. He does the tough stuff too, off hand I'd say is one on one defence is the best (for a half) I've seen at the club since Cliff Lyons. The priority for Blease should be keeping the current spine together for the next two to three years. Yep, couldn't agree more

| Signed Jack Metcalf, a 24 year old RU winger who's played for Sale among others, on a trial. Does not count on the cap.

Clearly a player that Jamie Langley knows well. There's certainly plenty of junior talent that are currently playing the other code and if you've got some inside knowledge, then there are plenty of diamonds out there that will be suited to our game

| It's interesting how a return from injury can feel like a new signing. Gannon and Holroyd have felt like that this season. Hopefully Sivo, Simpson and McCormack will feel like that next year.
As Arthur says, a NRL backrower would be great to replace Gannon. I think most of us were a bit worried about the BR at the start of the season, but Gannon so far has been brilliant coming back from injury, and I'm worried about only going with McDonell and Bentley for next year, and I'd rather keep Kal in the middle of the park where he's been brilliant.
