No, it was not. Go back to the Sam Tomkins trapped arm cheating last week and the responses from the Wigan fans. Their excuse is that the tackler should just pulled their arm out and then it's up to the ball carrier to not drop it. That is what happens here, he gets hands into the ball and just pulls his hand away. He didn't grip the ball, the back of his hand was in contact with it.
