Watched the Widnes and Salford games on the TV, and Hull-Wire live at the KC this afternoon, and got to say I've been impressed with the standards this weekend given it is the worst weekend weather wise SL has seen for many years.

All games except Bradford-Catalan have at least been a contest, making it a good start to the new season.

Just hope it warms up next weekend!

Super League just gets betterer and betterer.

the hull v warrington game would have made an excellent tv game - never more than a score in it and the lead changing hands throughout - and of course finishing all square - a fair result

Seasons generally start like this though. The key is whether we still have close games 6 or 7 weeks down the line. I mean recall London last year - early season wins away at both Saints and Leeds (won 4 of first 5 overall) yet won just 2 of their last 22 matches.

Am surprised that Wigan v Hudds wasn't both top four teams and I think there was a maximum of 10 points seperating them at one point.

Lets not forget the two Hull had disallowed which could well have been given by the video ref.

I was really disapointed in my own teams lack of quality but all round it seems pretty decent. However it starts like this pretty much every season. The conditions usually even games up. In summer when Leeds, Saints, Wire, Wigan etc. get into their stride we'll see yet more big scorelines against whoever is down the bottom.
