If you're referring to the adverts just below the main forum banners, then that's Google Adsense.

Even if they were it'd be for the money anyway.

100s of adverts on this site now. Most of them are dynamic as well.. ugh. Glad I use the mobile version 90% of the time.

Yeah, this 'used to be' a non-profit website, but I can tell you now they must be making £1,000's a month. Server/Domain/Hosting facilities aren't exactly cheap, but not THAT much!

Who cares if they're making money? Good on them for doing so.

Far too many adverts. 3 one of top of the other at bottom of page is ridiculous and hardly likely to increase your click through revenue other than by accident! Tho maybe that's the idea....

I know, tell me about it. If you look on google earth, there are a new set of islands that spell out the names of Mugwump, tb and Mintball. I overheard a conversation between some of the moderators as well, complaining that they weren't allowed to have any optional extras on the McLaren F1's they were being given as company cars and moaning that they weren't allowed to use the RLFANS.COM private jet.

We've had to mothball the jet after tb and minty took it to perpignan, it just takes way to long to clean after their parties.

If anyone see an advert they think has no place on rlfans.com then get the url and send in a support.rlfans.com request and we'll take a look.

I have no problem with the adverts.....it beats having to pay to access the site!

A lot of websites offer subscriptions for people that don't want to see adverts. Granted some of them have more horrific ones (video ads, pop-ups/unders, etc.) but at least it's an additional revenue stream.
