Hetherington called the RFL incompetent 2 years ago. I wonder what has changed since then to make him change his mind?

I agree with the 6. Until the RFL are questioned for their shorcomings - things will just carry on. This action by the 6 will long term be better for the game

There's nothing in that piece to say that he has changed his mind. His problem is that he disagrees with the way in which some chairmen are handling themselves.

You can call the RFL incompetent whilst not wanting to burn the house down.

Hetherington is the only person in charge at one of the big clubs who has seen properly seen life on the other side in the lower leagues and has a much more rounded view of things than the "me me me" approach of Leneghan who, no doubt, views anyone outside of SL (and about half within it) as dross and drivel, to borrow a phrase.

thats your opinion but the facts are he was the chairmen/owner of London so i think he has seen the struggle of clubs more than most. until a real plan and not just a dossier of words get put into action Super league will struggle for money and SIX chairmen agree, 7 until a bizarre change of mind from St helens.

people calling Leneghan selfish, what about Hetherington? Leeds maybe able to afford the cut in funding other clubs who are breaking even or turning a small profit will then be making a loss. six of one and half a dozen of another and it still clear as daylight the RFL are incompetent at running the commercial side of super league and thats what these chairmen want to change and wont agree to anything until it does.

Again, what from Hetherington's statement suggests that he isn't equally as exaserbated by the RFL's commercial failings as Lenaghan? Nothing, zip, nada. Hetherington's complaint is that some chairmen went to this meeting and acted like children. As, I suspect, nobody on RLFANS attended that meeting, we can only take his word on that.

Lenaghan is right to voice his concerns about the RFL, but he and Hetherington probably have different ideas on how best to go about it. I don't understand why GH is portrayed as someone who is backing the RFL just because he hasn't grabbed his pitchfork and joined in with the mob.

When the EGM was cancelled the RFL said they would now focus on the World Cup. Lenegan et al kept their silence but Gary was in the press the next day spitting his dummy......certainly not silent.

I'm very much behind the 6 rebel clubs. Sweeping massive commercial problems under the carpet of restructure is not the answer, and someone needs to stand up to the RFL on this.

Or it may be that Hetherington is the only person 'in charge' at a big club who has not built a highly successful business from scratch.... and that his business experience outside the small RL bubble is next to nothing? Maybe some of the guys who have built highly successful businesses in a variety of sectors have a more critical view of Nigel Wood than a guy 'employed by Caddick' to run the Rhinos. Who knows?
