Just a bit puzzled, so forgive me if my understanding of the rule book isnt a informed as it should be BUT!

The ball that hit the ground last night for McGuires no try before he kicked it through, is that not what happens when any player does a drop goal attempt??

as I said at the top of this post I'm a bit puzzled!

think ur foot has to make contact with the ball at the same time it hits the ground. or something like that

its deemed as purposefulness if you watch a drop goal there is a deliberate intention the ball gets raised before dropped and also length of time on the ground drop goal normaly hit on bounce a dropped ball will normally just land flat

Didn't see it as I was at Cas, but if he lost control of the ball (dropped it), then kicked it on the half-volley, then it is a knock-on. It is only a drop kick if he purposefully places the ball on his foot at the same time the ball hits the ground.

the one last night was definately a dropped ball and dare i say it good defence by tomkins (prepares to get shot at)

No problem with the actual decision.

Thought the game was a close one and that it was only made more exciting by not knowing what Terry Albert was gonna do next, shocking ref for me!!

thought uncle Albert had a decent one for him last nigh thought the touch judge was shocking for allowing the forward pass when he was right in line with it

Was a good call from the other touch judge though as Uncle Albert was about to award the final try only until he was told to go upstairs.

swap that round and the touch judge wouldnt of said a thing and wigan get the try gaurenteed lol

Thierry seemed very flustered tbh. Almost gave the McGuire Try before getting the word in ear to check, and even after that he was set up for the Scrum instead of the Handover.

Also missing two knockons in consecutive tackles in the first half.

Not a good performance by Alibert.

TBF with the McGuire incident, I don't think anyone else apart from the lino though that wasn't a try. If there wasn't the video ref there that would have been given 10/10.

They also set up for the scrum because thats what came up on the video refs decision, so it was the video ref who got it wrong, then Alibert realised and corrected it.

Still shocking though.
