Well, that went a bit pear-shaped after half time.
Clearly they got a rocket at half time. Were we playing up the hill second half?
Yes London were playing up the slope second half. In his post-game interview Paul Cooke specifically stated that the mood in the Featherstone camp at half time was fairly calm, as a Fev fan I thought we had just about had the better of the first half despite the scoreline but obviously there was work to do.
London had a couple of unlucky moments as mentioned in Eccles' post-game interview, in the first half Webester-Mansfield was deprived of a likely scoring chance from a kick through when the referee got in the way and the ball went dead, in fairness to the ref he was in a good position and then the ball deflected right to where he was but it was very unfortunate from a London point of view (though they did benefit from a very fortunate bounce for Walker's try). The other occasion was when Davies was tackled under the posts in the second half following a break, it's possible he briefly got the ball down but the ref's view of the incident was blocked by the players involved and although the ref was only five or six yards behind the play, by the time he reached the line the ball was held up.
That said I don't think there was much doubt that Fev were the dominant team in the second half, scoring 32 points, and I think the scoreline was a fair reflection of the game.
