Probably deserved a ban under the current rules. He did get right under his ribs and tipped him over. A few years ago it would have classed as a great tackle but these days it's a ban.

The rules dictate a ban but to say he deserves a ban is something else. I don't know for sure and I'm not going to look it up but surely there must be some allowance for mitigating factors? On watching the tackle again, I'd say that although the lift did happen, it was accidental and without malice.

Think it would be wrong to ban him but would agree with a caution and instruction on tackling technique.

Clear ban. Probably 3 games as well based on previous players bans. Shame as we will miss him massively.

The tackle itself wasn't too dangerous, but letter of the law and making a statement to others will result in a ban.

The player has a duty of care to his opponents. There was a risk of serious injury and therefore it will be a ban.

What is annoying about this is that we have Tony Clubb out for several weeks after surgery as a result of a " crusher " tackle against Hull FC and no action taken.
All season it has been 1 step forward and 2 steps backward with injuries and suspensions .
If he is banned someone else will just have to step up , on we go

Against Widnes we played with 7 props... I'm sure Wane can come up with a game plan that only requires 6 props??
