I was comfortable with AK heading home at the end of this year. I now hope he stays. I think he’s an excellent centre option that compliments the way we play. 


I thought we were getting a free flowing attacking player when we signed him but whilst he can attack his defensive attitude has been fantastic. 


I don’t think ZE is quite ready to step up and take that centre spot yet so another year would do nicely I feel. 

Don't tell Saints fans you think Keighran is a good player. He's bog average and not good enough for Saints according to some of the posters on RedVee the other day. I'm with you, I think it's the defensive side of his game which has surprised me. His performance in the Grand Final last year went a bit under the radar. He was machine like in defence and pulled off one of the best try saving tackles I've seen in the second half. 

In terms of Eckersley, I think he's close to being ready, certainly as a centre but we need options. We couldn't go in with Eckersley starting and just guys like Sambou and Lowe as back up. One thing I will say is that the more I see Eckersley on the wing, the less I like him there. His carries from our end just aren't strong enough but I don't put any blame on him, as I don't think it's his position. Mad to think one of the lads doing the Superleague Raw show on youtube said he think's he's a better winger than Miski last week. 

I think the prop market now seems thin on the ground for homegrown talent so it would seem a no brainer to exercise the extra year for Eseh and integrate himin the first team. Hull fans seem very happy with him and he seems to be improving big time, he’s also still only a kid and with his frame he could have huge potential for growth as a player. Chan I would imagine is a goner.

We're still well stacked with props for next season, but agree if we see a future for Eseh he needs to be here

with Thompson, Walters and Havard all capable of big minutes, and then Dupree / Mago its likely he will be 6th choice prop, and is he going to get decent minutes. Its up to him to impress both this season at Hull and also in the off season in front of Matty and the coaching team. If and when he gets his chance, he then needs to take it, and make sure its difficult to drop him. he also has age on his side as he is still only 21 and a lot of time to develop at prop, so definitely worth keeping for at least next season

Personally I think I'd keep the pair of them and promote them up the order. I look at Chan at Salford and I still think there is a player there. Last night he was averaging 9 metres a carry and causes issues carrying the ball. I guess there are technical aspects of his game the coaches want him to improve and the same probably goes for Eseh but as 6th, 7th, 8th choice props, I'd be loathed to let them leave yet. I'm also impressed with Makin when I see him as well and he's another who I think can help cover the exits of Hill and Byrne.
