| Hi folks
We’re thinking of doing Catalan away in August.
Looking for some advice from those well travelled on this trip. Where do you fly from & to? Transfers? Are you stopping near Perpignan? If so, any recommendations?
Any general tips?
Thanks in advance.

| Fly into Barcelona and stay either in Santa Susanna or Lloret de Mar. You can get match tickets and transfers to game through Catalans Sport Tours. If you want to save money you can travel by train from Barcelona to Santa Susanna. I would recommend staying in Spain rather than France as there is more going on, more fans, and prices are cheaper. It's a great trip.

| We had to go to Barcelona from Liverpool and then Carcassone to Manchester coming home as we played them the last weekend in March so the summer schedule wasn't out which meant limited flights.
I think there is an option to go from Leeds/Bradford direct to Perpignan which is what we would've done if possible but we got the train from Barcelona to Perpignan which was about 1 hr 15 mins and a very nice scenic route. That's definitely a good option as Barcelona is a great city (been a few times) so we stayed overnight on the Friday and got the train the morning of the game.
The beauty of going in August will be the weather. It was cold and windy when we went so took a little bit of shine off the trip as we didn't really pack big coats due to travelling light so we were freezing during the game. The wind was as bad as I've ever watched a game in.

| We are combining it with a driving holiday to France. One night in an apartment right near the ground after 10 days in France, then 3 days planned to drive back. If you see a large dog with a Wigan jersey on in Perpignan, that's us!
