Security aside, it actually sounds like a good idea and one that will save both clubs some money.

Security? Cyprus has a massive British military presence.

There's a few local rugby clubs and a lot of Brits over there which should guarantee a decent crowd. Good weather in Jan and you can go skiing up the mountains if people fancy a get away.

So much for the merger rumours!

I guess a major stumbling block would be if either club had already made arrangements for a training camp, which I would imagine is more than likely.

Can I ask what does an overseas/warmer climate training camp add compared to say one held in the UK (away from Hull), bearing in mind the usual wintery conditions for the friendlies and first few matches of the season?
