For so many players to give so much was why Leeds are thought of as a champion side.

No fan could have asked anymore of the players they gave it 100%. There is a limit to how beat up you can be and still be asked to play!!

And just to add - Where the hell has the Ian Kirke of the past 2 weeks been all season? That tackle on Richards tonight and some of his runs were quality.

Absolutely not - fantastic effort from the players - a performance they all should be proud of under the circumstances

And also Watkins didn't have his best game but he was knackered with his knee pretty much all game and still kept going. Most of the team looked knackered but still kept putting their hand up. Can't fault the effort. As I said on another thread my only gripe was the way some of our subs were used given how knackered we looked. But proud of the lads tonight

Effort in the games that matter is never ever something that this group of players can be accused of lacking. They are the bravest bunch I have ever seen take to a field. Sometimes throughout the regular season they can switch off for a game or two, but come season end, they always rise to the challenge.

This year, could prove to be a watershed for some of them as our older players can no longer make the miracle plays against younger, fitter, faster teams, however you can never accuse them of a lack of effort when it really counts.

We are lucky to have been able to see such a great group of players perform together for so long at such a high standard.

Agreed, great effort. The set of six after Richards's break in particular was incredible defence. Just no way we could keep that up if Wigan weren't dropping the ball and we were, and with two or three half-fit players.

Moon the best back on the field, Peacock the best forward on the field, Burrow the best half on the field, but this time Wigan the best team on the field.

Fans should get down to Headingley tomorrow and cheer the next crop of youngsters against Wigan
