Great to see such a decent turnout for Fridays game, however, I noticed in the Carnegie terrace especially that there seemed to be massive over-crowding with people walking backwards and forwards at the front of the stand, struggling to get into the terrace, people standing in the yellow areas usually so vigorously policed and a few near flashpoints with people being jostled etc.

What was it like elsewhere?

Southstand was chocker which was good until you needed the toilet or bar cause all the yellow areas were full as well.

Was that because people couldn't get to the toilets?

There was a stood by the yellow area in the South who wasnt letting people passed him. Some folk eh?!

I thought the atmosphere was good. Really enjoyed it.

You always get those. And the ones who stand next to the yellow walk ways but refuse to move for you to shuffle further in.

It was a great atmosphere though. Hopefully we'll get more like that seeing as every minute counts

Experience of being in the South Stand and the Carnegie Terrace, even when they're not particularly full, is that the stewards are completely disinterested in keeping the gangways clear. I'm not entirely sure what they're doing for their national minimum wage, but it doesn't actually seem to be any form of crowd control.

The 'head'steward near us seemed more interested in making the kids sit down on the wall, rather then keep the exits clear

I was lucky to get a ticket for the north stand it was almost sold out on Wednesday

Realistically though, if they did make an effort it would result in hundreds of people shouting at them calling them 'jobsworth s''. And if you are on minimum wage it really wouldn't be worth the hassle!

Then maybe:

a) they're in the wrong job, and
b) the club needs to be contracting with a company that provides stewards who will actually do their job?

They should take the approach to reffing as espoused on another thread: anyone loitering for more than five seconds in the yellow zones should be ejected from the ground. That'd sort it.
