A big thing i noticed today is the conditioning or lack of it, the players look out of condition, never seen Cunningham look so rounded, but most of them look to be carrying a bit of additional pounds. I knew Eastmond was no out and out 100 meter man but the way Locky left him for dead stunned me, he also looks a it more chunky this season.

A good few of their pack looked out on their feet despite the dominance in the second period off the back of the penalties. I feel Wigans superior conditioning played a major part in our victory today.

Yup, along with the terrible coaching, the poor tactics and ridiculous squad assembly by the board. Wigan didn't really impress me today I have to say. I think you were fortunate our off day was worse than your's.

We did have a hard game against Huddersfield on Sunday, so we wouldn't have been quite as fresh as the Wigan pack. But our conditioning has certainly taken a dive since Apollo left.

I felt you did enough to win that game but at the key moments Wigan could handle the Saints in defence.

I think Saints are a good club and will clearly be there or there abouts come the end of the year BUT i think it was noticeable today that physically Wigan were in much better shape than you, and in the end it was a key factor that told in the result.

You're not telling us anything we don't know already. We noticed the deterioration last season. These days we look knackered ten minutes after kick off.

Your defense is well organised and tough to break down. We continually got upfield into a position to score then wasted it through passes to the floor going astray or us knocking on when going for lateral passes all the time instead of trying to shift the ball. Lazy, badly organised and terrible executed would be a good summary of our gameplan.

Our players looked knackered, Wigan's fitness was far superior.

I think there needs to be an element of perspective to this - Wigan were also on their knees gasping for breath in the last ten minutes of that game. Not unusual in a derby.

But Wigan got through a whole lot more work during the game and still seemed to win all the major collisions.


It is not just fatigue either Saints look bulkier but not more muscular than i have seen them in a long time, and i think it told today.

I said last season on here that Potter was trying to bulk up our players, Roby being one of them, and many of the know alls told me that I was talking rubbish. I wonder what these people think now you can clearly see that Potter has done what he wanted.

Not really suprised they're unfit- walking back to the train station today I saw Meli and Tony P in spicy chicken(?) (near Old English Pub), don't think the Wigan squad would get away with that with Maguire in charge. I heard he has them in the swimming pool after the games.
