Just watched this weeks Boots N All, and have to say Stevo was embarrassing at the end.

He made a very good point about the lack of clean breaks from dummy half in the Leeds v's Melbourne game but then ruined it by talking in a high voice about the players being "good little boys"

The man is cringeworthy at times and needs to realise he is on a flagship show promoting a great game.

During his commentaries of live games he needs to stop berating the referees so much. Yes they make mistakes but during a game he will talk about far too much about them. He needs to keep focus on the players and the game itself.

He (and Eddie) just needs to retire.....

Done the job they had to do but need to make way for younger more knowledgeable men...

Cullen was an SL coach until recently and even as coach of a CC team will be aware of the latest coaching techniques, especially as he watches all the SL games every week. I'm afraid his view carries far more weight than Stevo's does.

Knowledgeable with regards the tactics and techniques of the modern game...not too difficult to grasp surely...

The next time there's a live super league game on just make a mental note of how many negative comments Eddie and Stevo make.

I don't wish for us to go down the union route of trying to make every passage of play a thing of beauty to which commentators must wax lyrical like the poet Laureate using every superlative in the dictionary. I would however prefer to see us put a positive spin on passages of play rather than look for the mistakes and the negative all the time.

I'd agree with that. Some times a player will put through a quality, inch-perfect kick which a winger will catch and ground fantastically and Stevo will just go on and on and on about whether or not he was an inch off side. They need to spend more time talking about the good aspects of tries and decisions instead of trying to be 'controversial' all the time

Since when did highlights become all the knock-ons rather than the tries? Pathetic

Very true, Stevo is desperately trying to be controversial but coming across as an old relic.

The more I listen to him the more he reminds me of the old gits from the Harry Enfield sketches.
