I’m not sure it’s possible to disagree with the fact that it is Lockyer’s opinion that Sculthorpe was his number one international opponent
Kieron Cunningham may disagree with being listed as ‘England’ though!

| That list must be in random order surely. I mean we've had some cracking players over the years but we've never beaten them in a meaningful game whereas the Kiwi's inspired by guys like Wiki, Jones and Marshall have done them 3 times in the past 7 or 8 years in major finals.

Scully, along with Cunningham, were the players I most liked to watch, except when they played against Wigan. A very well respected, retired GB schoolboys coach, said Scully was the best player he'd ever coached and he'd seen the best of them. Surprised though Andy Farrell didn't make Lockyers' list.

Why? Great player that he was he was too easy to read. All the moves were directed through him because he was such a dominant figure in our game, which made us easy beats. He also had the slow motion dummy and step which was easily read. He always made mistakes when tired and chasing the game - especially kicking. Overall Scully at his best was far more effective.

| What's Scully doing in there.
He wasn't a stand off but David Waite played him internationally at stand off because he wanted to have 6 loose forwards on the field. So proper stand offs (Orr, Thorman, Cooke) got overlooked.
