Having watched the NRL for the past few years the 2 ref setup if the way to go. The calls made are far more accurate as the refs have a better view of most decisions.

Worth trying but I thought the Aussies had considered going back to the one ref.
Don't think we can afford it, however we may be in trouble if the RLIF votes in favour of two refs for fully pro games. SL may have to follow as they did with the shoulder charge ban.

But would 2 refs bring consistency to our game? That's what we are lacking no 2 games are reffed the same.

It's what the SL needs, but the question is are our refs good enough? Ganson is the best of a very bad bunch. He blows the pea out of the whistle for the first ten but he won't take the soft option. Silverwood is terrible, Roby can't hack it, Robert Hicks doesn't even know why he's on the field. Personally I'd rather every game had a video ref and the 'On Report' system abolished. Our refs are threatening a strike alledgedly with not having good enough management so maybe video refs at every game first?

just a thought, do away with the 2 in goal touch judges and have a 2nd ref. Then the ref in the defensive line is also in place to see if a try is scored. Cost wise do 2 touches = 1 ref........mmmmm

I play American Football, we have 5 refs every week (1 behind the defence, 1 behind the offence, 1 to the side to start with and 1 on each touchline) and they still cock it up constantly. Just having more doesn't make them better, you have to have higher refereeing standards across the board, otherwise it's just an extra person to blame for a defeat.

I thought the refereeing in the NRL has been pretty inconsistent so far, seen some very strange decisions.

We ain't got 2 quality officials running our games now, where on earth are we going to find 2 a game from?

I hope the RFL bring it in . Even if we have a junior ref policing the PTB.

2 Refs, 2 TJ's, 2 In Goal Judges, a fifth ref, a video ref, a ref who manages replacements, a match comissioner and blind Stevo/Cherry Clarke
