Have to admit at first glance I thought McIlorum was simply the victim of his own aggression and height disadvantage and Watts had been very hard done to. But having seen the replays he's definitely seen him coming and raised the elbow at the head.

We've all done it - seen a defender and raised the arm in protection, but the rules are very clear regarding contact to the head.

Watts literally had a fraction of a second to react to mcillorum shooting out the line at him. Watts elbow doesn't leave his waist, hardly raises, it's more of a defensive block rather than an attack with the elbow. Hicks has lost control of this game

yep, def red. however it was simmering and had hicks binned MM and Kelly, as he should have done, it could well have settled the situation.

If people think Watts raised his arm with the intention to hit McIlorum in the head they're full of . He used it a bumper just like every forward in the league does. McIlorum went for a big hit and got the timing wrong.

He's unlucky as McIlorum has gone for a big hit and clobbered Watts elbow but let's be honest we'd be crying blue murder if that was reversed.
