This is an excellent signing for the Robins and further bad news for London.
With KR , Salford and London tipped to finish at the wrong end of the table, this signing could see them pushing for mid table and possibly better.

Probably a signing that will go under the radar, but certainly could prove to be an astute bit of business. Drinkwater is a good organiser on his day.

Whether this is a good signing it’s hard to tell though personally I think he’s very overrated. I think this is shown by how long it took for a club to actually sign him!

I don’t know what HKR are paying but I bet it’s a lot less than he was touting himself at just four month ago. No offence to HKR but had he not been as greedy as I’m led to believe he was he could well have landed at a lot easier berth than he has - one with real SL ambitions for this season.

If he plays like he did at Catalan the HKR will have an ok signing, if not then oh dear. Personally I think he’ll do ok without pulling up any trees - but like Miller for us.

You contradict yourself by firstly suggesting the length of time it took for someone to sign him suggests he’s overrated but then point out his high wage demands will have stopped a club with real SL ambition signing him.

No doubt it sounds like he’s been a bit greedy and probably why it’s only a 1 year deal, he’ll be looking at a bigger club for 2020 and HKR might not be able to afford his wages tying up a certain chunk of their SC for multiple years.

Tbf Vastman's being going on for a bit about how overrated Drinkwater became this season, long before he signed for Hull KR.

On Drinkwater, I think it's fair to say that if he continues his form for Catalans in his few games there he'll do well for them, if he plays like that bloke who was at Leigh or London not so much so.

Where those wage demands came from is anyone's guess, seen as Catalans took a chance on him, pulling him from reserve grade RL in Aus to play for them, played well for 2/3 of a season and then suddenly wants marquee money.

I think he’ll do a great job for Hull KR and is an excellent signing. I know many Wire fans and fans of other clubs would have been more than happy if he’d signed for their respective sides.

I wouldn’t say he’s a world beater but half backs are hard to come by so for me he’s a good signing he was great at Catalan good at London average at Leigh I know he wanted £130,000 which he was on at Leigh which we refused which is why the deal took so long to go through

Like I mentioned above I don't know where the value he placed on himself came from, probably his agent - as you say there isn't an overabundance of good HB's in SL, so it looks like he's tried to take advantage of that situation. ATEOTD if your pack can do the business, he'll look good behind it.

Not totally he said he could have got an easier berth at a bigger club if his wage demands had been lower but we played a lot lower than he wanted so in reality he could have signed anywhere
