We're 1 point ahead of the equivalent point last year, this time last year we had played 13, won 9, lost 4 (twice to Huddersfield, plus to Catalans and Hull). This year we are played 13, won 9, drawn 1, lost 3 (to Catalans, Saints and Leeds).

I know it has been a bad start to the year for us but last year we were in an even worse position and we managed to rescue our season with a run of form at the end of the season so lets hope we can do another Houdini act this year.

I think people are 'worried' because we're not in the form that we were in at this stage last season.
Form is temporary, class is permanent.

People are also worried that we are not Embarrasing teams this season with big score lines!!
A win is a win in my book no matter how big or small!!
A few seasons ago we could nt even make the top six so i will take whatever comes our way again this season.

Last season we were a bunch of flat track bullies who couldn't grind out results and get wins when we weren't playing well.

This year we have rectified that, nobody calls us flat track bullies any more. Now we are doing what Wigan have done for the past two seasons, never looked that much in form but seem to be up the right end of the league.

I think one of the key reasons we aren't is because of the change in refereeing this season. The ruck speed is so slow it hasn't allowed us to steamroller teams - even if we were in top form I wouldn't see us putting 50+ past many teams this year.

Last year there was fluidity, offloading to our own team and a dominance we have not seen for many a year in a number of games including against the top sides. This year, so far, we have seen a strange lack of fluidity sometimes looking rudderless and offloading that beggars belief sometimes but still we are up there.

As Sally points out, I would rather look good and win the the Grand Final than wow everybody every week during the regular season with scores of 50+.

Not really interested in our league form atm. As long as we are thereabouts come the end of season and are hitting our best form then. Seriously i haven't been to the last couple of league games, they mean very little. The playoff system is great isn't it, 27 rounds of meaningless games and a small cup comp.

I think there are an awful lot of straws being grasped at here by
people not wanting to face the facts.

We are not a shaddow of the side we were last year. We haven't
played a single good game yet and are not showing any signs that it is
about to change anytime soon.

I am not a massive TS fan (I remember the World Cup in Oz), but if
he can pull off a win on Sunday he will go up in my rating.

Cats are at home with good support, playing well and on a roll.

We are away, not playing well and definitely not on a roll, with a lot
of players not having played together for some time.

If Tony can pull all that lot together and produce a win, I will be truly
be impressed !!

Eh, don't understand your reasoning. You say you are no a fan of TS but if we win on Sunday then your rating of him will go up.

How fickle are you, in my 30 years of watching the Wire I think TS has been the 3rd best thing to happen to this club only beaten by Simon Moran backing us and our move to the HJ. Yet if we win just one game on Sunday then he goes up in your estimation. Like I said how fickle are you.

Ever heard of the cliche "you're only as good as your next game"....

I take it classlessness is also permanent, then?

This season is certainly better preperation for play-off rugby than last years regular season was.
