| What annoys me is that this 'Celebration Meal' will no doubt be unaffordable for the vast majority of supporters who scrimp and save to watch the club every week. I understand how much money hospitality brings into the club and the need to have fancy events for that kind of clientèle but I think it is unfair to restrict something like this, as with most testimonial events.
If the club has any sense they will open the East Stand bar and sell tickets for around the £5 mark, have a DJ and/or band with a few speeches and the silverware on display with something like hotpot available for a bit more. This is IF we win of course!

| Some years ago, at our lowest ebb, Jiffy posted on here that knowing Warrington fans' penchant for a good moan that if we ever won the Grand Final somebody would still moan about the home-coming parade.

That was actually me. I predicted that there would be a thread on here moaning about the route and/or how people couldn't see. And I think we did have posts like that after the Wembley parades.

| Does anyone really care? Of the 14 or so proper trophies I've seen Saints win, I think I only went to one homecoming. It was a complete shambles watching drunken players show their todgers, rant incoherently down the microphone, watch their kids run round misbehaving, listen to various members of the board coming out with self gratifying speeches and listen to some random councillor gegging in on the club's achievement. What's the point?
What's far better when you win a Grand Final is to have a fry up and sit in front of your TV watching endless repeats of the final, then walk to the shop and pick up the paper, which is usually a front and back wrap of the trophy presentation. Homecomings for the Cup final aren't so bad, the weather is generally good so you can have an open day style show with various things on. Grand Final time it is ALWAYS raining and with the season finished the players will ALWAYS disgrace themselves.

I think with the fact that we have already had 1 homecoming this year, it is a sensible decision.
Let the players have a blowout whatever the result and have a day off on Sunday!

It seems to be something of a tradition for Saints players to 'display' themselves.

But it reads as if there will be a photo op for BEFORE a celebration meal which would seem to indicate that the meal is an added extra. Also, if they pitch the dinner at around £25 a head that's what it costs in most restaurants these days - even the local Chinese if you eat in. You'd have to look at it as a combination dinner out with your wife/husband and GF winners celebration rolled into one.
As Saddened says, no point having a open top bus tour in the rain.

| From the information that I have, from a very creditable source, should we win, there will be a number of events to celebrate it.
There will be ample opportunity for the fans to see the cup, with the players present and there will be no expectation that the fans purchase a meal.
The meal celebrations will be separate events.
