Well, we did it

and the hard way playing Fev and Batley.

Thank you for getting behind the lads and creating a huge atmosphere, I know how it helped them because we had a lot of tackling to make.

Our reward - to get to see our team in a final again, the first since 2011 and only the second since 2006, so lets make it a great day for all concerned.

We are trying to improve the craic for all fans, and have some exciting plans for 2014 with some great things yet to happen this season, but I now want to focus on making this day very special for all.

Some fans want to go early some later so we must cater for all with the coaches, we also want to encourage clubs, pubs and groups to work with us to make it special - but please buy your tickets from the club.

We will work with all our partners to create a menu of options for fans, together with some affordable merchandise and if time allows a playing quality shirt.

Watching the Lions game on the TV yesterday I noticed a large section of the Aussie fans were wearing yellow jackets and yellow bowler hats it looked great perhaps if we draw the 'red card' for the final we could do something similar.

Then the yawnion started and I switched off.

If somethings not broke, dont fix it

Leaving at 2 or 3 different times can be a nightmare to organise. You will always get people who book for one then want to change on the day 'coz their mates on a different time or they want to finish their pint so they assume they can get the next one. Obviously you can issue different tickets etc but who wants to police it on the day?
Also, you could end up with an half empty coach on each departure - who will fund the £200 shortfall on each coach?
Travelling in convoy also looks better

Maybe the club could start selling red and white parafania and go along marketing us as 'the legion' going to fax?

If you want to create a massive spectacle, 2000 fans walking to Halifax would attract attention.

We should be using this as a fantastic opportunity to showcase we are not some small time club and can muster a damn good support for a Cup Final fixture.
The club needs to be very proactive at getting the message into the towns of Leigh , Atherton and Tyldesley etc and equally having coaches running from those towns for the supporters / potential supporters in those towns, every pub & club should be approached about running a mini bus / coach (I'm sure landlords would like the idea of everyone meeting up beforehand in there pubs / arriving back after the game), equally what schools are being represented and what coaches are they running along with various other local sports groups (is it discounts for group bookings ?) - if we want to be a community club then we need to start becoming one NOW with this as a timely springboard.

-Get the merchandise on sale at the stall and it promoted daily on twitter and the website (final tshirts with fixtures on back and NRC final Halifax 2013 on front (similar to most rock concert tour tshirts), do various brands of tshirts , mugs and cheap 'tat' that people will buy to be part of the occasion.

- Get the players, coaching staff and BOM / BOD in the locals industries , Schools and supermarkets showcasing the final and offering tickets up for grabs use the 'This is for you' line to build up the community brand.

- Lead with getting every town centre pub, shop and school decorated cherry and white.

- Countdown to 'our final' on the website / twitter accounts.

- Small Advert handed to every chippy within 15min drive of the LSV.

- Small Advert handed to every Fast food outlet within 15mins of the LSV.

- Large Advert on the roundabout at the LSV entrance.

- Large Advert (or a mobile advert) facing Morrisons / Asda / Siansburys / East Lancs Road / in Atherton, In Tyldseley , In Bolton telling them of our match with a picture of a lonely looking figure looking at a light switch stating 'don't be the only one left in Leigh' with the match details and prices.

- Contact South Lancs Transport and ask how much for a rear advert on the Bus (or even better a all over advert), offer partnership 'Leigh Centurions Transport Provider'.

As for the transport to the match, lets have a name 'Operation Halifax' , 'Operation we want our trophy back' (builds on the chants from Thursday) or something more well thought out but lets make it a 'event' just being on a coach with like minded people.
Time the coaches to leave in blocks but when people want to ('the public gets what the public wants' , all ticket only - bought with match ticket perhaps ?), but lets have the Club branding and 'Operation' xxxx coach 1 etc on every coach with a sponsor / volunteer who is given a free ticket and coach travel for organising that coach after its been booked by the club.

Start all this with immediate effect - time is ticking and money can be made in huge numbers , with the players doing there bit on the field and getting us to the NRC Final a early 'gift' has been handed to the BOD / BOM to really prove they means business and put the club back on the map, lets take that gift and market it to the very last penny.
