I'm fascinated to see how this is going to work.

It seems unlikely to me that any of Salford, Cas or Wakey's stadia are going to take shape in time for the next franchise applications. Salford fans are particularly disheartened, while neither Cas nor Wakey seem particularly advanced since the last applications went in. Even Saints fans admit that their plans are delayed and that they may need to play some home matches away.

Are the RFL really going to show the door to three current SL clubs?

I suppose you'd have no problem replacing them numerically - with Leigh, Widnes and Halifax, but wouldn't that lot be a little underpowered given the speed and intensity that SL now (according to the Shaun McRea's of this world) performs at?

This is my great fear for the long term future of RL in Britain. We're always going to be reliant on little, underachieving clubs, because without them we've got no-one else to play.

With 1.75M of new shares sold and the site being cleared I would say the new saints ground is on track!

I'm not sure that getting our own new ground that we own and don't rent from a football club should go on this envy-o-meter, but each to their own.

You haven't sold £1.75m worth of new shares. £1.35m was converting debts of Directors to shares so that the books look better when you try to raise capital to help with the new ground.

Clearing a site doesn't = new ground.

The club have only just put out the tender notices for construction. There's a long way to go yet although not as long as some of the others named.

It says elsewhere not in your new ground. I cannot see you being in your new ground until at least 2013 or even 2014 the site has started to be cleared but who knows what the will find when it is clear. Its an old industrial site and their could be anything hidden underground its not always straight forward i hope you do get your new ground but cannot see it being ready by 2012.

You're reading too much into it, they mean the new ground.

Whilst I don't believe that it's behind schedule, even if it's not finished by the start of the 2012 season, as long as the development is progressing we'll not be kicked out.

But then, I don't think we won't get a licence anyway, the stadium is only part of the criteria anyway.

I never said you would be Kicked out and i really do hope your not even if your new ground is not ready. But i think you could well be playing at another venue for maybe 1 or 2 years it takes nearly 2 years to build a new stadium and thats with no problems. Tenders have just gone out so that means contracts will not be issued until at the earliest December 2009 so work will not start until at least February 2010 so with no hiccups or delays it will be February or March 2012 and i would think its more likely that you would move in at the start of the 2013 season. So it is very likely you will have to play at another ground for 12 months.
