I was thinking about the road we took in '02, ridiculously easy when you look back. IIRC it was Hull FC, UTC, Leigh, Castleford, St Helens. I'd kill for that route again!

True but I would still be more confident playing at Wigan against the likes of Leeds and Wire.

You say easy...but you should have got knocked out in the quarters!

On paper the route to the final was easy but it was far from that. Not sure we should have been knocked out to Leigh but it was a very tough game we had to come from behind to win. 7 Sin Bins and Crowd Trouble as well.

The Semi v Cas wasn't easy either. We sweated on a slender 14-10 lead from 35th to 76th minute before Gary Connolly sealed the win.

That was more to do with the team not being that great though. If we got those draws again I reckon we would make it much easier.

Game all hinged on a refereeing decision from Cummings. Remember the daft rule about getting a 20m tap if you caught the ball in-goal with one foot over the dead ball line? Instead of getting the tap, Cummings gave the drop out mentioned and Dallas scored in the corner in the next set of six to give you some breathing space when we'd really had you on the rack prior to that.

Certainly one of my favourite Leigh games of all-time though, even with what was on reflection some pretty average players in the Leigh side. Crowd was unofficially well in to five figures as well; wish we could get that now! Maybe we'll see in this year's quarter finals?
