The thing is he looks so unassuming on the field, like he wouldn't hurt a fly, but controversy has followed him around throughout his career.

Yes he got a suspended jail sentence for it. He should have been careful with a suspended sentence hanging over him.

If youve done the crime, you deserve the time. Simple as that really, even if you are a pro rugby player.

We potentially saw the last try of his career on sunday then depending on what happens afterwards.

This is what I thought, on the field he looks such a quiet player. I thought he did OK at Wigan without ever doing anything outstanding. What was the reason for him leaving Wigan? Or did we just not want him?

I didn't see him every week of course, but from my memory I thought Aspinwall looked quite good in the days when Gregory was Wigan coach. There was something in the Warrington papers about us trying to sign him around that time and being turned down (also we apparently tried to sign O'Loughlin after Forshaw retired in 2004). Seemed like his career was on an upward spiral from 2002-04 and steadily slipped downwards after that.

Still I don't think he's a bad player. He's the type of player you would say is 'average Super League quality'.
