When the club received around a million pounds in transfer fees last season, it's staggering to me that we feel the need to bring in Jordan James. A good, honest player who will try hard but you have to replace quality with quality a) if you're the champions b) if you have money to spend and c) if you're Wigan.

Eddie always played on the left as a second row. I think Clubb was signed as the replacement but is not up to that role.

We need an experienced rightside backrow forward desperately in my opinion.

Problem is that at this point in the season the squads are quite settled and there's no really proven quality out there.

Kirmond is probably the only 2nd rower of note that isn't tied to one of the bigger sides in the league. It would be nice to test the waters for him and see if it's possible.

Wane has a great record of maximising heart. James has all the heart in the world.

We need though quality in the backrow. Real quality. We miss HH massively.

If no one else is available then Eddie could be the standout contender from our makeshift bunch.

Kirmond would not improve us. Big heart but not the level of quality we need.

Kirmond is a very underrated player imo.

One thing is for sure he's better than what we have now and he's a good defensive player who knows his way to the line.
