Looks like we've drawn the short straw here. Not only do we get the Friday night game, we have to travel the eighty odd miles to the Keepmoat Stadium in Doncaster, whilst Warrington have only a ten miles trip to Leigh on the Saturday.

Still, it'll be a new ground for me from a football perspective adding to the seventy odd I've been to over the years. Bring it on.

Was looking forward to it thinking it would be sat or sun afternoon. TV it is on a Friday unfortunately.

The Hull fan who mentioned it was the Friday night game on here last night was bagging us on the Hull board saying we'd all whine about it for the next month. Well in truth it's not ideal is it and it doesn't seem particularly well thought through but this is Rugby League and common sense is in short supply up at the top.

We'll have to grin and bare it. Our group will definitely be going but I wouldn't expect a huge following from our end.

We will take quite a few but nowhere near as many as we would on a Saturday afternoon.
Let's look at it this way, the North Stand is never more than a block or two full in our Friday night SL fixtures when the Yorkshire teams visit.

Plus the game will be live on TV which no doubt will knock a few off. Hull should outnumber us easily for this one I reckon.

To be fair, it's like a Home match for us. Other than hull kr, our nearest away trip is cas which is about 50 miles and we took over 4000 there the other sunday. I'd expect a big Hull following but like yourselves, it would have been much bigger on a Saturday afternoon.

Could the RFL not be pressured in any way to move it to the Sunday? Surely it can be rearranged in a month.

The problem isn't the venue and most fans agree. It's the fact that it has been chosen as the Friday game. Why? If the games had to be played on Friday and Saturday surely the Wire v Wakey game should have been the Friday game just for travelling fans considerations. In reality the games should have been Saturday and Sunday. I'll be there, but as I've retired it doesn't affect me as much as most other fans.

In all seriousness I'm buzzing as have plans on the Saturday so would of missed it and I fully expected the match to be then . don't like these Friday nights for semi final. Prefer Saturday and Sunday both on bbc but it is what it is. The fact were discussing it is just another reason to be happy with our season.Is Bateman back by then? Hardly whining is it. I think you'd agree it isn't ideal for either set of fans? Id rather have your trip then ours and the crowd will reflect that but I'm sure both sets would have plumped for Saturday or Sunday.

As I say I don't expect a great deal of thought for the paying punter from the RFL though. It should be a good occasion regardless.

It'll be interesting to see how this much lauded Hull team cope with a 'really big' game and not just a regulation weekly round fixture. With us having only the one forward who 'might' make your side it should be a comfortable victory.
