I post I think would be an entertaining one if not very helpful is a refs rating win or loose, now I didn't go today but could you guys that did start this post off then come the end of the season we could award a winner and a wooden spoon

I'd rather focus on the rugby than the ref.

Ref had a very good game, let the game flow think there was only one holding down penalty and no penalties for marker not square. That to me makes for a good game. Couple of times he looked to his touch judge for help and as always none came. Big call to call Gale as held up, in goal judge did not help him, think most refs would have bottled that and given a try. Would only say that when he gets to watch the game back he may think he missed a couple of head high tackles. I would give him a strong 8 out of 10.

Gales held up decision was clearly a try.

I thought the ref did ok overall , the touch judges however were pants!!!!!!!

sometimes it has to be said that the standard of ref has a bearing on the standard of the game so in a somewhat indirect way the two become comparable, however if you wish not to take part Don't, but why make a point of not taking part.

I guess because its the start of a new season and the most discussed topic are the officials. It takes away the discussion from the players.

When you say discussing the players, in your case means slagging them off and by pointing out when on occasion referees byass does it not endorse how the players adapt an out play the oppositions 14th man. Why is it people on here only read what they want to read it was meant to be a ongoing thing rather than to just come on here and slap the ref off when we loose which I'm afraid to say is often done by many myself included.

Was stood in good view and he Grounded the ball but shouldn't have been awarded anyway as a cas runner obstructs some one coming in to help tackle him well before he tries to ground the ball. Should have been a pen to us. Also someone might want to tell hicks that when we are tackled on the last Short of the try line that handover doesn't take place on the ten metre mark. Gave cas 10 metres which is in effect an extra tackle.

Fat Carneys try was 3 yards forward ,I know Owen touched it,but,the initial pass was forward.I personally thought Hicks was poor

The pass for Carney's try was so far forward I can only assume the linesman had something in his eye at the time. Finn released the pass on nearly the ten metre line and Carney collected it just about on the try line.

From what I saw of Mr Hicks gestures, a Wakefield hand touched the ball thus play on. Even though it was 10m forward.
