League Weekly has reported this morning that talks have been underway for a number of weeks over a proposed takeover of the Dons by Doncaster Rovers.

Ironically, the Rovers themselves are the subject of a move that would see a reported £40m investment by Sequentia Capitol in a deal (which the report states) would also include the Dons and the Belles.

We need new investment if we are to move forward .

await news with interest........ my main question would be why. Investment would be great of course, something for us to think about over the long off season.

I'm reticent about this and the possible impacts.

We have struggled over the years with lack of investment , I am sure the current board will admit they cannot put more money in.

The big question is; What price the Dons best interests?

The current regime have their hearts 100% behind the best interests of the club, and have managed the club impeccably during their tenure.

A new group may have pots of money but will they be interested in us long term enough to keep at it

If we become part of the Rovers would we loose all identity, and play in a red and white hooped shirt (and look just like Wigan, Leigh, Oldham in the process).

I stopped coming under a previous regime because of an attempt to "rebrand" the club.

Takeover is very different to investment. Investment I would be interested in. Takeover I would be very concerned about.

Playing on the Keepmoat pitch means we have to fit in with the Rovers and their pitch reseeding schedule and that severely skews and cocks up our season. We don't get a nice pattern of HAHAHAHA.......no I'm not laughing!
How could that be managed better, if at all?

What is needed is a return to Winter rugby, the pitches can be resown in the nice grass growing summer months and we can return to a better Home/Away balance which must help clubs budget better and hep attendances a bit.

Otherwise we are consigned to a crappy fixture list or shifting some games to the athletics ground, if that is allowed.
And that would not be ideal if we want to be a bigger club.

I don't think it's negative to be supporting the clubs current regime; surely if anything it's positive?

I didn't mean it that way, I do support the current regime . All I am saying is they donot have the finances to take us to the next level.

We need new investors I appreciate that a take over may be different .
